THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO SCUBA DIVING
MALTA – GOZO – COMINO

FOURTH EDITION by Peter G. Lemon

pile of booksThis publication covers dive sites around the Maltese islands based on the author's experience of over 2000 dives in these waters over a period of thirty four years. It is a comprehensive full colour 224 page guide, with illustrated dive sites each with an aerial photograph, a local map and accompanying text, also boat dives are featured. This is well supported by many photographs; many of these are aerial, covering dive sites, marine life, wrecks, artificial reefs/diver attractions and places of interest. The book is fully up to date which includes Tugboat 2 which was scuttles off Exiles, Sliema on 20th June 2013.

It is written with the accounts of the author's experiences in scuba diving, local knowledge, having made almost 100 visits to the islands, and information aimed at both the experienced independent diver as a guide, also those who require accompanied diving or for the beginner as a souvenir.

Clearly laid out, this A4 book takes you on a trip around the seas of the Maltese Islands. Below the aerial photograph is a three dimensional map of each dive site, which is clear and easy to follow. They show the most favourable entry and exit points, depths and underwater landscape, helping to make each dive as tress free and as safe as possible, easy to read as the whole book is in a portrait format.

Detailed sections cover most things that you would need to know when visiting the Maltese Islands, also information of places of interest to visit for those days when you do not go diving. There is a comprehensive index, which means you do not need to spend hours trawling through the book every time you need to find something specific.

Highly illustrated as well as informative, this guide makes an ideal coffee table book as much as it does a reference book or of course as a souvenir for the beautiful aerial photographs contained within its pages.

This diving guide is supported and used by the Dive Centres in Malta, Gozo and Comino, the Professional Diving Schools Association and the Malta Tourism Authority.

SCUBA DIVING MALTA GOZO COMINO – Fourth Edition - Changes to 4 Dive Site Plans.

This is due to Mother Nature playing her part, creating two violent storms during this winter, with huge seas around the Maltese Islands which were responsible for these changes.
Namely Tugboat 2 Exiles Sliema Malta, which has been moved into the reef, the Azure Window Dwejra Gozo, the devastating loss of this historic landmark made the National news on British television.

Tugboat 2 has been moved by the heavy seas some 30/40 metres off the sand onto the end of the reef, still upright and intact. She has come to rest some 30 metres past Heart Rock, then Mini Car Rock which is about half way, following the reef where it meets the sand on a bearing of 60/90°

The collapse of the Azure Window and its pillar has affected the immediate area around this historic land mark. This disaster will affect three Dive Site Plans; full updates can be obtained from your Dive Centre. The base of the pillar I am going to name the Azure Reef.
Up dated Dive Site Plans will be available free from our web site shortly.
